Every student at PVD Prep enjoys three “signature experiences” each school year.

Signature experiences are hands-on learning opportunities conducted in partnership with community based organizations. Take a look at some of our signature experiences from 2022-2023 below!

Students, use this link to rank your preferences for our February signature experiences.

Fifth & Sixth grade:

Fall: In the fall, all fifth and sixth graders at PVD Prep enjoy outdoor community building activities. In the past we have hiked to the highest point in Providence, and explored the Caratunk Wildlife Refuge.

Winter: In the winter, all fifth and sixth graders enjoy a trip to Boston to visit the Museum of Science, the New England Aquarium and the Boston Freedom Trail.

Spring: In the spring, fifth and sixth graders spend several days with Save the Bay exploring and learning about Rhode Island’s Narragansett Bay.

Seventh grade:

Seventh graders at PVD Prep select three different signature experiences over the school year from a menu of options that includes glass blowing, sailing lessons, rock climbing, a FabLab, cooking classes, pottery and more.

Eighth grade:

Fall: In the fall, all eighth graders visit local college-preparatory high schools as part of their preparation for the high school admissions process.

Winter / Spring: We are planning our first winter and spring signature experiences for our eighth graders now! Check back soon to learn more!
